Theatre Troupe

Like to act? Want to be a peer health educator? Theatre Troupe is here for you!

2017 Corner Theatre Troupe

Theatre Troupe is a peer health education program that uses theatre as a tool to teach others how to be healthy. This means that as a young person, you get to use your ideas and talents to teach others about important health issues. As a troupe member you will get the chance to write and perform shows all over Southeast Michigan on topics such as depression, HIV/STI prevention, healthy relationships, and teen-parent communication.

Why Join?

Check out the following perks of being a troupe member:

  • Get theatre training from a professional actor and director.
  • Make new friends and participate in fun activities after school.
  • Learn about important teen health issues in a safe and confidential place.
  • Earn community service credit.
  • Build your resume for college or work.
  • Earn (a little bit of) money!
Who can join?

Anyone between the ages of 12 and 25 can join, and don't worry--no previous acting experience is required. You must be able to get to and from the Corner Health Center once a week for Troupe meetings (when we resume in person). If needed, we can give you bus tokens. Click here to see where the Corner is located.

How to join?

We recruit new troupe members year-round. To join Troupe you need to fill out an interest form along with having a brief interview with the Theatre Troupe staff--don't worry interviews with us are easy!
