Development Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Corner Health Center seeks a Development Manager with a working knowledge of raising funds for nonprofit organizations, ideally within a health care setting. This individual will work very closely with the Executive Director, agency leadership team and Board of Directors to spearhead fundraising activities for the organization. This is an exempt, full time position (40 hours per week, including some evening- and weekend hours) with competitive salary and benefits. This person will report directly to the Associate Director. This is an ideal position for someone with several years of development experience, with a passion for running all aspects of a development operation in a strong, local community organization, who wants to help develop a major gifts program and has a passion for youth and health.

Responsibilities include identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individuals, foundations and corporations capable of making annual, major and planned gifts to support the Corner’s programs and services; building community partnerships with health, and youth serving organizations; developing fiscal year operating budgets and strategizing to meet fundraising goals; and creating materials for annual appeals and other fundraising efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Donor Cultivation (50%)
    • Build and manage a broad base of individual donors. Efforts include conducting in-person cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings with donors and prospects both at the Corner offices and off-site.
    • Develop, implement and analyze annual fundraising plans including corporate sponsorships, grants, planned giving and endowment activities.
    • Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies for major gift donors and prospects. Set and manage in-person meeting goals to engage the board regularly with major gift activity.
    • Coordinate fundraising events and donor prospect gatherings.
    • Plan, design materials, and manage at least two direct mail appeals annually.
    • Design and execute special events for donors
    • Participate in community events and public functions to represent the organization and actively engage donors, prospects and key stakeholders, including community partners in health care.
  • Administration (50%)
    • Manage donor data, gift processing, timely gift acknowledgements, and appropriate donor gift recognition.
    • Maintain and build donor portfolios including accessing and analyzing data in Donor Perfect.
    • Produce dashboard reports to be presented to internal management and the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.
    • Create annual report for the agency
    • Work with the Finance Department to reconcile donor database numbers with financial reporting.
    • Manage Grant and Program Evaluation Coordinator for reporting as required by funders.
    • Work with staff to create new grant opportunities for program expansion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibility in fund development in a health care organization preferred, with a documented track record of growing a major gifts program.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse variety of stakeholders and constituents, and a portfolio of fundraising materials developed on the job
  • Grant writing experience
  • Strong external networking, relationship and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to plan, monitor and grow revenue streams
  • Experience creating annual operating budget and proactively managing budget variances
  • Proficiency in fundraising software, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

COMPENSATION

$65,000-$68,000

Grants Coordinator

Seeking associate-level professionals experienced in grant writing and fundraising with an interest in non-profit work!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent and protect donor intention and restrictions on all grants with CHC staff and finance.
  • Maintain communication between CHC staff, finance, and funders on the progress of grant implementations; keep Development Director/Manager informed of all progress.
  • Create and implement timelines for applications that include all steps and staff involved.
  • Work with staff to assure outcome measurements for grant reporting are accurate and current; alert Development Director/Manager of any issues that will interfere with accomplishing grant goals.
  • Create grant reports and applications following guidelines as published by funders.
  • Assist Development Director/Manager with grant application priorities and strategies.
  • Use DonorPerfect to track grant funder actions and prepare grant update reports as requested by the Executive Director or Development Director/Manager.
  • Research public and private grant opportunities.
  • Represent CHC at funder meetings, as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research

RN Vaccine Coordinator

Seeking RN to be part of our interdisciplinary clinic team. Responsible for the coordination of vaccine services for our patients including distribution, education, and outreach. 

This is a 20 hours per week temporary position, for 18 months with the possibility of being hired into a permanent position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate ongoing Covid vaccine availability for Corner Patients and community members including:
    • Initiation of new patient scheduling processes and systems
    • Organize the distribution of vaccine to community groups such as schools,
      churches.
    • Coordinating with the education and outreach department.
    • Coordinating with other health entities- health dept.
    • Community Education
    • Re-immunizations, in general and COVID-specific.
  • Attend CAHC information meetings
  • Maintain data for grant reporting.
  • Responsible for ordering and tracking vaccine supply, doses and use according to regulatory standards
  • Ensures vaccine information is properly entered into the MCIR vaccine system.
  • Organizes patient handouts and educational materials.
  • Oversees patient communications to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provides excellent customer service to individuals receiving vaccines.
  • Helps to manage and communicate updates and changes from MDHHS and CDC.
  • Manages EHR process and updates as required (updating orders and encounters types)
  • Provides general administrative support with vaccines including troubleshooting problems and issues
  • Serves as a resource for Corner Health staff who have questions about vaccine services and eligibility.
  • Crosstrain as part of RN care coordinator team

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Registered Nurse BSN or Associates Degree
