Clinic Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Corner Health Center has an immediate opening for a full-time Clinic Manager for our fast-paced, team-oriented, specialized health care clinic. This is a salaried position at 40 hours per week, including some evenings and reporting to the Associate Director. The Clinic Manager provides supervision for the clinic staff including nurses, medical assistants, reception staff, MIHP, and behavioral health; creates and maintains staff and clinician schedules; chairs clinic and quality improvement meetings; ensures regulatory compliance; optimizes use of Athena for data entry, reporting and billing; and acts as the main contact for our community partners. The Clinic Manager also works closely with the finance department conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Board of Directors and grant reporting.   

The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, enjoy teamwork and working with a multidisciplinary team. This is an ideal position for anyone with an all-hands-on-deck attitude who wants to directly engage with patients’ lives, make a difference in the community, and has a good sense of humor. This is an ideal position for a resourceful and mission focused professional with several years of supervisory experience in a health care setting who wants to play a significant part in helping Corner deliver our mission. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing supervision to the clinic staff
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory policies and procedures related to patient care, ie. OSHA, CLIA, MDCH, and HIPPA
  • Coordinate with residency departments from U of M and St Joes regarding clinic scheduling, rotation and onboarding of new clinicians.
  • Maintain vaccine registry, compliance, and storage
  • Analyze clinic flow and productivity to optimize building and staff capacity, continuity, and quality of care
  • Resolve patient complaints in partnership with the Associate Director
  • Chair Clinic and Quality Improvement meetings
  • Work with Medical Director to help make decisions regarding clinic policies and procedures
  • Acts as main contact for HVPA and Athena
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the Board of Directors, grant requirements, and other reporting as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility in health care administration, outpatient setting preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse variety of stakeholders and constituents
  • Strong external networking, relationship and customer service skills
  • Experience creating annual operating budget and proactively managing budget variances
  • Proficiency in EMR (Athena preferred), Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

Development Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Corner Health Center seeks a Development Manager with a working knowledge of raising funds for nonprofit organizations, ideally within a health care setting. This individual will work very closely with the Executive Director, agency leadership team and Board of Directors to spearhead fundraising activities for the organization. This is an exempt, full time position (40 hours per week, including some evening- and weekend hours) with competitive salary and benefits. This person will report directly to the Associate Director. This is an ideal position for someone with several years of development experience, with a passion for running all aspects of a development operation in a strong, local community organization, who wants to help develop a major gifts program and has a passion for youth and health.

Responsibilities include identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individuals, foundations and corporations capable of making annual, major and planned gifts to support the Corner’s programs and services; building community partnerships with health, and youth serving organizations; developing fiscal year operating budgets and strategizing to meet fundraising goals; and creating materials for annual appeals and other fundraising efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Donor Cultivation (50%)
    • Build and manage a broad base of individual donors. Efforts include conducting in-person cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings with donors and prospects both at the Corner offices and off-site.
    • Develop, implement and analyze annual fundraising plans including corporate sponsorships, grants, planned giving and endowment activities.
    • Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies for major gift donors and prospects. Set and manage in-person meeting goals to engage the board regularly with major gift activity.
    • Coordinate fundraising events and donor prospect gatherings.
    • Plan, design materials, and manage at least two direct mail appeals annually.
    • Design and execute special events for donors
    • Participate in community events and public functions to represent the organization and actively engage donors, prospects and key stakeholders, including community partners in health care.
  • Administration (50%)
    • Manage donor data, gift processing, timely gift acknowledgements, and appropriate donor gift recognition.
    • Maintain and build donor portfolios including accessing and analyzing data in Donor Perfect.
    • Produce dashboard reports to be presented to internal management and the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.
    • Create annual report for the agency
    • Work with the Finance Department to reconcile donor database numbers with financial reporting.
    • Manage Grant and Program Evaluation Coordinator for reporting as required by funders.
    • Work with staff to create new grant opportunities for program expansion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibility in fund development in a health care organization preferred, with a documented track record of growing a major gifts program.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse variety of stakeholders and constituents, and a portfolio of fundraising materials developed on the job
  • Grant writing experience
  • Strong external networking, relationship and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to plan, monitor and grow revenue streams
  • Experience creating annual operating budget and proactively managing budget variances
  • Proficiency in fundraising software, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Certified Medical Assistant (full-time)

POSTION DESCRIPTION

The Corner Health Center has an immediate opening for full-time Certified Medical Assistant. This position is 40 hours per week and will include evening hours in our specialized adolescent health care clinic. This position will work alongside clinicians, nurses and behavioral health staff in an outpatient clinic to provide health care to adolescents and young adults. Certified Nursing Assistants will not be considered for this position.

 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open and close the clinic, and prepare and re-stock exam rooms
  • Assist clinicians during patient exams
  • Accurately perform lab tests
  • Maintain clinic inventory
  • Be outgoing, personable and upbeat in order to be successful in engaging the patients

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a CMA
  • Completion of a CMA program and National Certification, or agreement to successfully obtain National Certification within 90 days of employment
  • Demonstrated proficiency and competency in taking vital signs, giving immunizations, performing blood draws, coordinating of patient flow, and other assignments as needed
  • Proven ability to work with vulnerable populations

Front Desk Receptionist

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Corner Health Center has an immediate opening for part-time Front Desk Receptionist. This is an hourly, part-time position (30 hours per week, including some evening hours). This position will professionally greet and assist patients, providers, residents, staff, and guests; enter and confirm information within an EMR/EHR system; and assist in the daily operations of a busy adolescent and young adult health center.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer phones and provide telephone triage, routing calls to appropriate staff
  • Make patient appointments as needed.
  • Ensure that returning patients’ records are reviewed to determine eligibility of service, and all patient information is updated.
  • Assist patients in applying for health insurance and filling out forms.
  • Perform check out duties, including scheduling of next appointment and collecting fees.
  • Reconcile petty cash.
  • Provide food coordination in the Corner Store and Food Gatherers ordering.
  • Provide clinic staff with daily information regarding patient schedule as well as updates to the schedule throughout the day.
  • Protect the confidentiality of member information in accordance with HIPAA laws and adhere to organizational policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Attend clinic and staff meetings.
