New Partner

Quite literally asking this for a friend (I swear, gay here). What are the odds of transmission from male to female if the male was on the 6th day of treatment for Gonorrhea / Chlamydia? He is too embarrassed/worried to share that he got it from a guy (not me!) but his girlfriend made it impossible for him to abstain on the 6th day of his treatment. He is now worried he gave it to her. Thank you all!

It takes 7 days for the medicine to work in the body and cure Chlamydia/Gonorrhea infection. If he had sex without a condom during the 7 days after taking the medicine, he could still pass the infection to sex partners, even if he had no symptoms.

He should tell her it is important for her to get treatment for Gonorrhea/Chlamydia.

He could also use the std.com to send an anonymous text to his girlfriend.

Hi I'm 18 years old and never had sex before and my and boyfriend and I are about to do the deed but I'm nervous. Is that normal. And also I'm worried how it may feel and I'm worried it might hurt so and idk what to do.

All of those worries are normal.  Talk to your partner about them and  "do the deed" when you are ready.

Couple of things to consider:

If you do not want to get pregnant you need to find out what form of birth control/contraception is right for you.

Also, you want to protect yourself from a  (sexually transmitted infection) . Using condoms will prevent sexually transmitted infections.  If your partner has been sexually active before he can get tested to make sure he does not have an infection.

Please schedule an appointment with your primary care provider or at Corner Health Center to get a birth control method that is right for you.

Hi, I'm 24 years old. My period was scheduled to come around next week Saturday. However about a week before I had intercourse and my partner used protection. It has been quite some time (many months, almost a year) since I last had sex. The next day in noticed some bloody discharge and thought it could have been just vaginal tears/irritation. The following day it looked more like my period, the flow wasn't heavy, it seemed like the first day or just before my period starts. We did have intercourse again, without a condom but he did pull out. Later that evening I was bleeding heavier as if it was my first day of my period (came one week earlier) and was the discharge that you would normally see during your period, however it was much lighter than normal. Can having sex cause your period to come earlier and affect the flow to a lighter flow? Or did it just interfere a little with my cervix and my period will come fully as planned next week?

It is difficult to know if your bleeding is from hormonal changes or vaginal/cervix irritation.

If your bleeding continues to be irregular please schedule an appointment with your health care provider or at Corner Health.

If you do not use protection you are putting yourself at risk for unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections

My boyfriend. Of 18 years passed away last year. We had a very active and unusual sex life. Since he died I slept with one man. Now that it is over a year since he has passed I am curios about maybe seeing what is out there. However, lately I can not even get my toys up. I don't want to go to bed with someone and not be able to perform. Any suggestion and thoughts appreciated

Sorry about your loss.  Often times people’s ability to perform is tied to emotional issues .  You would benefit from talking to a therapist related to your grief and loss and there are also therapists who are trained to help with sexual health issues

So I recently was with a male. And now I have stuff in the back of my throat, and some discharge down below. I was wondering if I should get in to be tested? Also I was curious on how expensive testing is, and how much it would be to get medicine to help with this issue? Thanks.

What you describe sounds like you may have a sexually transmitted infection .  Please schedule an appointment for STI testing at your primary care provider or Corner Health Center or you local health department.

You can get low cost testing and treatment is available also at low/no cost at Corner Health Center

Hi, I live with an old women much elder than me. She's in her late 80's. She insists on having anal sex which I have never attempted before. What is your advice to me? Can i go ahead?

That is a personal choice

I had sex and he was very rough during foreplay. And scratched my vagina. It's itchy now. I had some clear mucus and tiny white discharge in vagina. What could it be?

The irritation may have caused a slight infection or overgrowth of yeast .  You can try soaking in a warm tub (no soaps or irritants).  If it is still bothering you please schedule an appointment with your health care provider or with Corner Health (734-484-3600)

I’m a male of the age of 21. A girl asked me for unprotected sex and I did I ejaculated inside of her and informed her of this she said it would be okay. Unfortunately me being drunk I didn’t ask for her contact information or if she was doing any form of birth control how worried should I be?

Unprotected sex can lead to unplanned pregnancy.

From the information provided it is unclear if she uses any type of birth control which would  prevent unplanned pregnancy.

You may also consider getting tested for sexually transmitted infections.

You can schedule an appointment at Corner Health. 734 484-3600

I just lost my virginity yesterday and I bled A LOT during sex it wasn't really painful there was just a lot of blood. I've only had some light spotting since. I know it's normal to bleed your first time it just seemed like a lot of blood. Should I be worried? And will I bleed again the second time?

It is normal to have bleeding when someone loses their virginity.  If the bleeding continues and it is not a normal period you should talk to your primary health care provider.

You may have some bleeding the next time you have sex.

If you have questions about &/or need contraception (birth control) please schedule an appointment at Corner health or with your health care provider

So a friend of mine and I experimented a little, he never penetrated, we did do oral, and he tried to do anal, and he said he finished on my back however I don't know if that's true, I'm just worried I possibly might be pregnant. That was my first time doing something like that. It's been about 4 weeks, and I got my period, in fact the first 2 days I was heavy and then I started having the brown spots appear on my pad, i normally last about 6-7 days, and this worries me. I haven't had any symptoms other than the irregular period. Should I take a pregnancy test?

In order to get pregnant the semen/sperm has to come in contact with the egg in the fallopian tube.  It has to enter via the vagina.

If you have had a period then it is unlikely you are pregnant.

If you are concerned, please schedule an appointment at Corner or with our health care provider.
