STI is a sexually transmitted infection. If you think you have an STI, call or come in to make an appointment. If you have insurance, bring proof of insurance with you. The visit is confidential.
STI TESTING
Usually a urine sample is all that’s needed. Sometimes girls have a pelvic exam, too.
You can get your results in 1 or 2 weeks by phone. For more information on STIs, click here.
HIV TESTING At your visit, the counselor first talks to you about risky sexual behavior and safer sex. The counselor give you a number to use. This idenifies you so we can keep your results private.
Then you take the test called "OraSure". The counselor give you a tiny brush. You gently rub the inside of your cheek and gum with it until the brush is moist. You keep the brush in place for 2 minutes. There is no blood or needles!
After the test call back in 7-10 days to see if the test results are in. If they are you can make an appointment to meet with the counselor. The state requires the test results be given in person. Results are never given over the phone.
