"I'm 17. I don't want a baby until I'm at least 22. I wanted an IUD but it cost a lot. So
The Corner helped me apply for insurance and I got one for free. Now I don't need to worry about getting pregnant for
five years!"

Call or come in to make an appointment. The visit is confidential. If you have insurance, please bring proof of insurance with you.

At your first visit the doctor or nurse talks with you about birth control. Sometimes you have a pelvic exam.

There are many birth control methods that you can use. Many young women, who want to finish school or go to college, want to have an IUD. It prevents pregnancy for five years. Others choose depo-provera. They come to The Corner for a Depo shot every three months. Some choose the pill, patch or vaginal ring. Couples also use condoms. Condoms help prevent STIs as well as pregnancy.

If you had unprotected sex, call us as soon as possible. We try to see you the same day. You will probably be given emergency contraceptive pills – ECP. During your visit the clinician talks with you about other types of birth control.
