The Corner Health Center believes we can help build better futures for high-risk teens in our community. To this end, we offer several successful prevention programs addressing the most prevalent issues our clients face.
- Peer educators perform skits dealing with teen problems such as drug and alcohol abuse, HIV/AIDS, risky sexual behavior, violence and sexual assault or transmission of STIs and HIV.
- Performances focus on preventing young people's use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs. Other performances deal with prevention of sexual assault.
- Audience members have a chance to talk with the cast and ask questions that they might not ask adults.
- For more information about The Corner Theatre Troupe or to arrange a performance, please call 734-484-3600, ext. 241.
- Promotes abstinence from alcohol and other drugs in pregnant teens in individual education and counseling sessions.
- Works individually with parenting adolescents by providing positive reinforcement for their efforts to develop individual risk reduction plans. The goal is abstinence from alcohol and other drugs; intermediary goals include reduction of usage and development of safety plans for their babies.
