Charitable gifts are an important source of our operating support.  The Corner relies on private support to ensure that all of our young patients receive high quality primary health care, nutritional support, prenatal care, and health education.  With your gifts, we treat teens with treatment for depression, anxiety and other serious mental health problems—regardless of their income.

Seventy percent of our patients are covered by Medicaid.  The Michigan State Medical Society recently reported that Medicaid reimbursement covers only forty percent of the actual cost of care.  Sixty percent of the cost of care goes unreimbursed for the majority of our patients.  Another twenty percent of our patients are uninsured.

Donations to The Corner Health Center are used to offset the costs of unreimbursed care.  Gifts are also used to purchase equipment and supplies necessary for direct patient care.

Use of Funds

Last year The Corner Health Center received support from individuals, corporations, foundations, government programs and agencies, community groups, the United Way, and patient fees.
