Where is The Corner located?
The Corner is located in downtown Ypsilanti at 47 N. Huron Street, between Michigan Avenue and Pearl Street. The building, next to a city parking lot, has a large, colorful mural on it. We are two blocks from the AATA bus station. Patients can get free bus tokens to get to and from appointments.

When is The Corner open?
We are open Monday to Thursday 9 – 6, Friday 9 – 5. Walk-in hours are on Monday and Friday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30. For an appointment call 734.484.3600. Same day appointments are often available.

Who does The Corner Serve?
Males and females, ages 12 through 21 and their children. There are no residency requirements to be a patient at The Corner.

What services does The Corner provide?
The Corner's Medical team includes University of Michigan and St. Joseph Mercy Health Systems' physicians who provide:

  • wellness care including physicals and immunizations
  • diagnosis and treatment of common health problems such as a sore throat, infections, or asthma
  • reproductive health care including birth control, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI), HIV testing and counseling, pregnancy tests and prenatal care
  • pediatric care for children of adolescents
  • mental health services
  • support and education programs including WIC (Women, Infant and Children) Nutrition Program and MIHP (Maternal, Infant Health Program), Theatre Troupe, Youth Aging-Out, and MOM Power!

Are Corner services confidential (private)?
Information is totally confidential. We do not ask about immigration status and patients do not need a social security number. Under Michigan law, minors can receive the following services without parental consent:

  • birth control
  • STI testing and treatment
  • HIV tests
  • pregnancy tests and care
  • mental health services

We encourage patients to talk to their parent(s) or guardian(s) and involve them in their health care.

Does The Corner take insurance?
Yes. The Corner accepts many insurances including Medicaid/ Healthy Kids, Plan First and Washtenaw Health Plan. We also help patients apply for insurance. Most plans are free. Insurance usually covers the full cost of services. 

How much do visits cost?
For those without insurance we arrange payment plans based on income. Fees usually range from $3 to $25 per visit.

How long does a visit take?
It depends on the type of visit. The first medical visit can last at least an hour. The first OB visit is usually two hours.

Does The Corner provide abortions?
No, as a condition of our state funding we cannot provide abortions.
