Prenatal Care |
|
 |
| |
Our pregnant patients receive medical care from a physician as well as education, support and follow-up from our nurse care manager. She provides encouragement for young women struggling to quit smoking, abstain from alcohol and other drugs, and change other behaviors that may compromise the health of their babies. Prenatal care includes visits twice per month up to 36 weeks of pregnancy and then once weekly until delivery.
Almost all patients participate in the Maternal and Infant Health Program (MIHP) and receive enriched nursing, social work and nutritional services. In addition, The Corner provides ultrasounds, WIC, counseling, and Lamaze classes on site.
Patients can choose to deliver at St. Joseph’s Mercy or University of Michigan Hospital
