Corner Receives Two Grants to Provide Substance Abuse Services to Youth

Corner Health Center

We recently received the following two grants to provide substance abuse services to young people age 12 through 25:

Community Mental Health Partnership of Southeast Michigan (CMHPSM): Received in partnership with Ozone House, the CMHPSM has awarded the Corner a two-year grant totaling $100,000 to screen young people for substance use and provide a range of services to meet their needs. Through this grant, a team of health care providers will coordinate care for patients who are abusing alcohol, tobacco or other drugs. The team will include the Corner's health coach, a new clinical social worker, and addiction medicine physicians from St. Joseph Mercy Health System.

Flinn Foundation: The Flinn Foundation awarded a two-year grant totaling $196,000 to the Corner to further support our substance abuse services. With this funding, we will hire a behavioral health supervisor who will integrate the substance abuse services into the Corner's health care delivery model. This supervisor will also lead the Corner's behavioral health team to further strengthen our mental health services.
