Upgrades Around the Corner

If you head north on Huron Street in downtown Ypsilanti, you may notice something different as you cross Michigan Avenue. This fall, the Corner updated its building signage, making it more visible to passersby. Featuring the Corner’s new logo, a colorful new sign extends from the building over the sidewalk. The façade of the three buildings occupied by the Corner is unified with a new, horizontal purple band. Colorful graphics have also been added to the lower portion of the front windows. The signage was designed by DesignHub, a marketing firm based in Saline, and manufactured and installed by Johnson Signs of Jackson.

Inside this summer, the Corner transformed a meeting room into a teaching kitchen thanks to the support of the Ypsilanti Area Community Fund and the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor. Now equipped with cooking equipment, high-top tables and chairs,  kitchen appliances and easy to clean flooring, the new space expands the Corner’s capacity to offer hands-on nutrition education. During the fall of 2013, the MSU Extension Service will offer weekly nutrition education classes which will be free and open to community members of all ages. Check out our event calendar for dates and times.
